1.) How did you begin on your journey as a content creator and entertainer?
I was an outdoorsy adrenaline junky before I knew about Twitch and online gaming
I only knew Metroid/Nintendo for video games till I made some new nerdy friends who introduced me to Borderlands 3 on the Xbox.
After watching me play (screaming /getting lost/driving off cliffs) they said I was meant to start streaming
then sold me their old pc/monitor/mic equipment and told me good luck.
Here I am now, a Full Time Content Creator, for 5 years of streaming and passion for creating content thanks to the support of my community that keeps me going
2.) What advice would you give women in the digital content space? What are some things, when looking back, you wish you could’ve done differently or built upon?
Hey Streamer Girlies (This goes out to all pronouns too)! *AAAHH* Where do I start?!Be yourself, don’t try to be that other streamer you think is perfect and more successful than you. If you put on this fake face for content, you will be burnt out faster than you can figure out who you want to be in your own space. People come and go, and if they leave it’s okay, if you fall back in your success it’s okay, it’s gonna happen, you only fail if you fail to try. Just because that one person broke your trust doesn’t mean you can let them control your dreams and passion.
Don’t let people take advantage of you because they pay you a lot or they’re the only one in your chat who talks to you. As a content creator you give, give, give and give but don’t forget to take care of you, you, and you.
Love yourself and take care of you, learn how to take care of yourself like the way you wish someone would do for you cuz nobody knows what you need most without reading your mind. If you don’t know how to take care of yourself then make the time to learn how, it takes time but it’s rewarding and good for mental health if you ask me. You are worth the time to take care of because you give so much in the background that nobody sees. You’re not alone and you will find your family, your community even if that means going through the bad apples.
Find people who celebrate the wins with you and share the same goal with you in content creation, it’s helpful to have good real streamer friends who understands, they’re out there and you will find them someday if you haven’t yet just continue to be yourself.Celebrate the little wins just like the big ones even if that means surviving the day! That counts as a big win too!
I don’t think there’s anything I could’ve done differently or built upon, the ups and downs I will take it all with me and hold on to them because of where they brought me to now. I just wish I could have started streaming earlier in my life but I think everything happened just the way it was meant to be in my life cuz it shaped me to who I am.
3.) What are some of the biggest obstacles you’ve had to face? How have you, if you have, overcome those?
Ooooh boy, this might be a rough one.
I know I’m not the only one who faces this but loneliness and depression have always been my greatest obstacles I’m well familiar with. Once upon a time I’ve almost lost everything, myself, my family and the respect from my small local community because I stood up for myself when I believed I wasn’t being treated right by my ex who was well respected in the public eye. They all shunned me for breaking up with him.
Crazy right?
I didn’t handle things right myself but I was angry and drowning in depression when I was convinced I was truly alone. Then this nerdy friend I just met where I used to work introduced me to video games, DnD (and streaming) Ironically enough saved my life.
I don’t know how to use the words to express the gratitude I have everyday for still being here, today when I thought about giving up that day. I’m so grateful that I chose to not give up. It was the hardest choice to convince myself but I am so grateful to myself that day for being brave enough to face the next day, and the next day one at a time. It was not easy but in the end well worth it. I have my family back thanks to the time they made to listen and hear my side of the story. The majority of the local community has rejected me but I’ve made new friends, and dare I say, the best of friends I could ever ask for.
To my community and viewers, I only ask that after you read this we don’t talk about it in my streams or discord because it’s my story and nobody asks for it when they’re there to have a good time,Thank you! I sat down staring at this message I typed out for a whole day asking myself if I really wanted people to know, I am no mental health advocate and I don’t have the strength to be one, but I do hope that this message goes out to anyone else who is still in that dark place where I once was and my hope is to give them the courage to overcome with me and face one day at a time with me
4.) What are some big events you have coming up? What drove you to be involved?
I have one coming up this weekend with my friend @deadpixelttv! We created a team called “Team PP” ( you heard it right! ) Pearl and Pixel!
The event that’s coming up this weekend is the “Streamer’s Quest”, inspired by the tv show “Task Master”, two members from each Twitch Unity Guild are teamed up completing the quest’s put together by us (Pixel and Pearl) after a month long journey of their hard work creating content for YOU to see SEPTEMBER 6th 5pm AND SEPTEMBER 7th 10am MDT
We enjoy hosting events, but we just started with this team a few months ago starting with the Twitch Unity Guild Marvel Rivals Extravaganza! We had sponsors for our event to give prizes away to the Twitch Guild Members participating in our event. It’s been a lot of work not only cuz it’s the two of us working and helping so many members for our event along with being new to this but our goal is to bring communities together, make streamers meet other streamers and shine the light of the Twitch Unity Guilds having fun together in the friendly competition.
We plan to eventually branch out of Twitch Unity Guilds including other streamers in our future events. It’s a lot of fun but super hard work in the background preparing and thinking of all the things that needs to be ready and explained for the streamers in our events, it takes up I know a lot of our time to work on our own content and stream time but I hope in the end it’s fun for everyone not only in our events but watching it live on stream and that’s what makes it worth it.
Check out our website and maybe you can join us for our next special event! https://www.teampp.tv/
5.) Final question. You’re given a free vacation anywhere you want – where are you going and why?
It would be nice to go somewhere nice and relaxing for me to read some Marvel Comics or the Witcher books with some nice landscape nature scenery without some internet for a few days.I would LOVE to go to Japan, I wanna see the traditional culture, I wanna go to soak in the hot springs, I want to see Tokyo and see the city nights and the chaos.I would also love to go to a beach, somewhere tropical with the white sand and clear blue ocean and sun bathe with a sweet drink to enjoy.
I would love to go back to Germany and EuropeI’m not picky, I wouldn’t turn down a vacation and opportunity to relax for a bit!
