1.) What was your process for creating your vtuber model?  What was your inspiration?

The process for creating my model was honestly a lengthy one. I went through several different mood boards of ideas before I finally got the one I really loved. My inspiration was honestly, myself. Not even kidding! It’s a big love letter to a lot of things in pop culture that I love as well as roughly based on my body type before I had a major surgery last year.

2.) How much of “you” went into your vtuber model?  How did you decide what personality parts to add (if you did)?

I’d say my model is all me! From the outfit style, to the glasses, the make-up, all of it really. I knew going in I wanted to have a lot of things that would be uniquely me and that I’m interested in. Shout out to my model parent Zoe_Squid on Vgen for all the work she put into everything too! She literally drew and rigged my model from just mood boards!

3.) How much more difficult is it to create content in the vtuber space?  What are some of the obstacles you yourself have run into and how have you worked on getting past them?

I’d say it’s very difficult.

You have to make sure you really express yourself through your voice. The vtuber sphere has seen a lot of people join it in recent years as well and it’s become a bit more accessible than it used to be for people. Standing out can be a challenge when there’s a lot of “those anime people.” I’ve run into just my own mental health taking a toll on me because some days the voices in your head are louder than they should be with the negative.

I push past it by either just going live or if it’s really bad I take the day for myself to just recenter myself. I’m thankful my community is very understanding that sometimes we just have rough days.

4.) What advice would you give others who are considering creating a model/vtuber account?

One of the biggest things for advice I can give is, don’t spend more than you can afford to.

There’s plenty of wonderful sites out there to get started with premade models and more premade models coming out. Just be careful of AI generated slop. Booth is a great site to get started on with premade models, it’s how I started! There’s NO shame in it and saving up money for your own model!

Don’t expect it to take off right away either. Someone might be SUPER popular in one space, but struggling in another too. Consistency is key!

5.) Final question – If you could change the ending to one game or movie, which game/movie and how would you change it?

It’s silly, but I’d change the ending to Avengers: Endgame. YES, I know Tony Stark had to kinda “go,” but his child and wife got left behind and his child had to grow up without her dad. Something about just the idea of a child having to not have their parents who love them just hurts me. Sure, she has the remaining avengers but she doesn’t have her dad and he can’t teach her all the awesome technological know-how he has.
