1.) Congrats on winning in the Hidden Gem category in the 2025 Wet Awards – can you tell us a little bit about your background as a creator in this space?
Aaaaah thank you, it’s still a bit of a surreal feeling! Being a content creator with a disability/chronic illness is so tricky to manage, because a lot of the normal advice given to people entering the content creation space often just isn’t feasible for someone juggling complex health issues. Something as simple as sticking to a regular schedule isn’t that simple with unpredictable health issues. It just became a matter of trial and error, finding what worked for me! For me I figured I would be playing games anyway, I might as well try? And here we are three years later!
2.) How did your journey into content creation begin? What was the first game you ever streamed?
Stardew Valley was the first game I streamed! I genuinely still love that game, and need to do another save file (though I absolutely REFUSE to go the Joja route). I actually streamed a handful of times about a year before I properly committed. Way back on a macbook of all things. It was a chaotic mess but gave me a taste of streaming and I saved hard to get a proper PC.
3.) What advice would you share with creators who are just beginning on their content creation journey?
Honestly, remember that your health comes first. The genuine members of your community will be there the next time that you’re able to stream. Recognize the limits of your health, and focus on quality content around that. Most importantly, don’t compare yourself to others – especially within the chronic illness/disability sphere, no two people are exactly the same. Just be authentically you!
4.) What did winning the award mean to you and your community? How were you able to drive the involvement you did to bring home the win?
We knew it would be a close one because there are so many incredible creators in the Hidden Gems community (I loved getting to know more of them). It was such a community effort! It blows my mind how many people I have supporting me from all over the world, and all different spheres! My physiotherapist actually got on board too, and they got the whole clinic to vote for me. I even squished down my anxiety and was individually reaching out to people I know may not have been aware of the competition, and asked if they’d vote.Honestly did not expect the outcome but was so honoured – and very emotional! My community still gets excited about it, which just warms my heart so much because it really truly was a community win!
5.) Final question – You become president of GetWetSports – what category are you adding in the next award show?
I would love a category for creators with a focus on positivity and creating genuinely supportive communities. I’ve seen way too much negativity/mean girl behaviour from creators of late, so would love to see some creators who focus on uplifting others so much get a bit of the spotlight for themselves <3
Or in a similar vein, a category for creators with a focus on giving back to their communities/various charities. There’s so many people that do so much good for the world, and with the current state of the world, I think we could all use a little more good!
