Creator of the Month Interview – @Phinxx2K

1.) What is the one thing you love about your community?

I love that they show up for me when they can and are goofballs like me, but they’re the most sweetest, wholesome, loving people I could ever surround myself with as well, my community feels like home and we all lift each other up and support one another however we can!

2.) How did you get into content creation/gaming?

I’ve been a gamer my whole life since I was 4, I grew up in a small town and got bullied because of the religion I was forced to be in and always wanted to share my passions for gaming and anime with the world since nobody in my area understood me and I started content creating in 2015.

3.) What was the best video game and worst video game you have ever played? Why?

The best video game I have ever played was between Super Mario Sunshine/Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door. Those have always tied for me. The worst game I have ever played was Only UP! Because you can get up higher and higher and if you fall, there’s no checkpoints or save option so all that progress was for nothing and it’s defeating lol. 

4.) If you could collab with a community or influencer, who would it be?

My dream community collab would be with Ghost Gaming. Influencer dream collab would be Cinna because she’s down to earth but funny and goofy and I relate to that so much.

5.) Who inspired you to start creating content or continues to inspire you?

My inspirations when I started out were creators like Syndicate, JERICHO, OMGitsfirefoxx and 2MGovercsquared a bit over 11 years ago with Mianite and CSGO and other shenanigans. I always hoped I could have cool friends like that to play games with the more I grew as a creator. 

6.) You have a ton of involvement and success with charity streams and generally helping those around you, what drives you and how did you get started?

I always worked hard on my own and done everything organic but never asked for help but I love helping others and love seeing people win, even if they don’t know I exist or don’t wish the same for me, that’s just how I roll.

What drives me is if I can make even a small impact in others lives by helping them grow/succeed or hit charity goals, that’s the most rewarding feeling in the world, worth more than every dollar that’s out there, just knowing I made someone smile.

As for charity, my friend Anthony_Kongphan was always doing 12/24 hour St. Jude streams years ago and it seemed fun and inspired me, where I also donated to charities growing up whenever I could wherever I could, an online charity really interested me, then when I seen all the amazing thing’s St. Jude does for the kids and families and how above and beyond they go really touched my heart and they’ve been my favorite charity over all the years and I love to do individual campaigns when I set up the times and try to raise as much as I can to help the kids and families as well ^.^

7.) How do you continue to find motivation every day/year?

I continue to find motivation every day/year because I always look so forward to turning on my stream and connecting with those in the community and seeing how their day was and what’s new with them, and also just rocking out in my happy place and safe space. I was a loner most of my life so the online world and streaming feels like home to me because that’s where I first ever felt truly accepted and could be fully myself because the judgement was always heavy IRL and people felt entitled and were mean. I still get nervous to this day before every stream but like a excited nervous to see my people again!

8.) What advice would you give to the next new creator that you wish you were given?

Advice I wish I was given when I started out would be don’t be scared of the webcam, network more and try to make more connections with other streamers (because I was scared to reach out AND I STILL AM LOL) But my own advice I’d give a new creator from my own experience that’s kept me driven all these years is DELETE/TURN OFF/DON’T LOOK AT YOUR VIEW COUNT LOL. I used to put a sticker on my monitor when I started before streaming was how it is now and put my numbers underneath the sticker every time I was live to hide it so that wasn’t the focal point of my streams and just vibed out instead of sweating over numbers rising and dropping and over analyzing it!

9.) You get to go on a vacation anywhere. Where do you go and what’s the first thing you eat/drink?

If I got to go on a vacation anywhere I would go to Japan, that’s always been a dream to me and the first thing I’d eat would be Takoyaki, I’ve always been curious how it would taste, it looks delicious but I’ve never had octopus before haha, the first thing I’d drink would be authentic sake. I’ve always adored and had deep interest in Japan and the culture.
